Earlier this week, at an event following the Hollywood premiere of the new movie "Letters to Juliet," actress Amanda Seyfried found herself under friendly fire. Besieged by back-slapping studio executives and adoring fans — all eager to congratulate her on her role as a young journalist who stumbles into love in Italy — she was pinned down in a restaurant banquette, graciously thanking and hugging admirers as they approached.
But what she really wanted to do was to leave her own party.

Amanda Seyfried, who exited “Big Love” earlier this year after the show’s fourth season, says she'll likely make return appearances to the hit HBO series.
“I’m gonna go back, probably at the end of the year,” the actress said during a recent interview, where she was promoting her new film, “Letters to Juliet.”
Seyfried, who on "Big" plays a teenager trying to understand her family’s polygamy, said she left the show because she wanted to pursue film opportunities.

Amanda Seyfried always comes off confidently onscreen. But like everyone else, she has days where she doesn't feel so on top of the world. The star shares how she gets over insecurities to feel her best no matter what.
You've had such a big year --do you feel like you've finally "arrived"? I've been an up-and comer for so long that I do finally feel like I've established myself. I don't quite know where yet, but I do feel like I've had enough under my belt for people to be able to trust me. I mean, I'm really insecure! I've always been. But at least I feel a little more confident now.
What are you insecure about? Your acting? Your looks? Both. It's very hard for me to watch a movie anymore with me in it. I used to not care. But recently I've been playing the romantic lead, and in order to be a romantic lead, you've kind of got to be pretty in my opinion. Clearly, some people think I can play the attractive girl. That is still a mystery to me. It's a face thing--I pick apart my face. I guess we're naturally inclined to want to change things about ourselves, and that gets heightened when I'm watching on a big screen. And it's OK. Sometimes you wake up and you like it and sometimes you don't. As comfortable as I am with myself day to day, watching it? It's just strange.

Behind the Scenes: Amanda Seyfried's Cover Shoot!

We've laughed with Amanda Seyfried in Mean Girls, we sang with her as she danced through Mamma Mia, we cried with her in Dear John (her first headlining role), and we had a blast shooting her for our June cover!
When we shot the actress for our June cover, we thought a grassy Malibu location would be the perfect spot to bring out Seyfried's girl-next-door approachability. The uber-friendly star--who arrived wearing a striped, black and white Diesel tank, a cardigan, leggings and Uggs--introducing herself to everyone on set, and was easily comfortable and chatty with everyone around her all day.
SELF's creative director called Seyfried a "young Brigitte Bardot" when the actress playfully posed in the sun--her sexy summer shots evoked the '50s while capturing Seyfried's low-key vibe (No A-list attitude here; she even brought her own lunch!). All went well her until the wind caused us to move inside. Yep, we sodded the entire living room of a Malibu mansion!
